Hey everyone! Mark your calendars because something amazing is happening this March, and you won’t want to miss it. LoveSetMatch is thrilled to team up with the YMCA for their incredible Girls Empowerment Day—a celebration of strength, confidence, and community that’s all about lifting up the next generation of unstoppable young women.

If you haven’t heard of Girls Empowerment Day yet, let me fill you in. Hosted by the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, this annual event brings together thousands of middle school girls from across the LA area for a day packed with inspiration, fun, and hands-on activities. It’s held in honor of International Women’s Day, and over the years, it’s grown into a powerhouse event that’s touched the lives of so many. Last year, 3,000 girls gathered at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA, for the 3rd Annual Girls Empowerment Day, and this year promises to be even bigger and better.
So, what’sLoveSetMatch bringing to the table? We’re all about empowering girls to find their spark—whether that’s on the court, in the classroom, or wherever their dreams take them. At this year’s event, we’re joining forces with the YMCA and Serving Up Hope to host a special tennis-inspired workshop. Picture this: a morning of drills, games, and tips from some seriously inspiring female athletes who’ve been there, done that, and smashed every ceiling in their path. Our goal? To show these girls that they’ve got the power to set their own pace, match their ambitions, and love every step of the journey.
The day itself is a whirlwind of awesomeness. From sports clinics led by pros (like us and our friends from the LA Kings, Clippers, and Sparks) to speaker sessions with Olympians and trailblazing women in business, there’s something for every girl to connect with. Past events have featured stars like four-time Olympic silver medalist Kara Lynn Joyce and gold medalist Breanna Clark, sharing stories that light a fire in everyone listening. The vibe is electric—think laughter, cheers, and that unbeatable feeling of realizing you’re part of something huge.
And it’s not just about the fun (though there’s plenty of that). The our mission is to break down barriers and build up confidence, and we’re so proud to support that. Last year, LA28 donated over $100,000 worth of Nike gear to make sure every girl left feeling ready to take on the world. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do—because every girl deserves to know she’s capable of anything.
Want to join us? Whether you’re a parent, a mentor, or just someone who believes in the power of community, we’d love to see you there. The event is free for middle school girls in the LA area, thanks to partners like the Los Angeles Unified School District and LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Stay tuned to our socials for exact dates and details as we get closer to March—we’ll be posting updates, sneak peeks, and maybe even a chance to snag a spot in our workshop!
Let’s come together to cheer on these incredible young women and show them that with the right support, there’s no limit to what they can achieve. Join LoveSetMatch at the YMCA Girls Empowerment Day—because when we empower girls, we empower the future.
